60D
I like C1 very much. I'll probably upgrade to the new version sooner or later... in theory.
I hope very much you are not expecting v5 users to be forced into upgrade for 60D support. The camera has been out for months before v6 was released.
There's just no way I can live with supporting you any longer if this is the way it's going to be, sorry. Please tell me there's an update in the very near future for v5 for all recent cameras... 🤓

Jon,
If you are addressing Phase One, perhaps you should do so through a support case. This is a User to User forum.
In regard to the support for the 60D, this came in conjunction with the new Canon SDK which is not in Capture One 5.0 -
Thanks for replying Drew.
I have already submitted a support ticket, waiting for a reply.
On several occasions, both you and Ulf implied on these forums that an update to C1 should be coming real soon.
An updated is not the same as a major version upgrade, and I think a had a valid expectation to see 60D support added to v5, considering it was released more than 2 months before v6 was announced.
If there is a valid technical reason why full 60D support is not practical within v5, I can understand. But you could have saved your customers a lot of grievance by being forthcoming about it rather than implying an update is coming soon, and keeping us in the dark about the new version, as if you are some pharmaceutical company working on some multi-billlion dollar top secret patent... 🙄
In any case, I still think the right thing for Phase One to do is to issue one last update to v5, adding all cameras released before v6 was announced.
I did want to purchase the upgrade eventually. But I want to do it in my own good time, and not feel as though I'm being bullied into it.0 -
Jon,
I'm sure you can appreciate, at this time, that we were in fact working on improving the software. That those improvements came in the form of Capture One 6 and not an update to Capture One 5 is unfortunate but that is just the way things worked out. Focusing on the new software as appose to the old is how progress works.
In this case I don't think that there will be an update made for Capture One 5 and with all of our "hints" I don't think we explicitly implied 5 would be the recipient of 60D support. Then again we have done retroactive updates with Capture One 3 and Capture One 4 so anything is possible. I can appreciate your disappointment but in the wise words of the Stones... "you can't always get what you want". 😉0 -
Hi Drew,
Thanks for your patience and for keeping this discussion alive in the forums.
I answered you in the support ticket, looking forward to get your reply.
I know I'm not the only user feeling upset about this, so I hope some pragmatism from Phase One could be achieved.0
