Live View focus - Canon 5d MkIII
I've just upgraded from a 7D to a 5D MkIII and I've noticed an issue with live view focusing that wasn't present when working with the 7D.
With the auto-focus switch on the lens barrel set to M (manual focus), Live View focusing buttons do not work correctly. Clicking ANY of the left bracket varients (<, <<, <<<) causes the lens to focus all the way to the closest distance and clicking ANY of the right brackets (>, >>, >>>) will focus to infinity. In other words, there's no fine control anywhere between the outer extents of the focus range.
When the auto-focus switch on the barrel is set to AF, the focus buttons in Live View work correctly but it's useless because the camera will re-autofocus on capture.
Is there something in the custom functions on the 5D that I'm missing?
Thanks

Set up back button focus on the 5D Mark III and that'll take care of it. Can always leave your lens in AF, but the camera won't AF unless the rear button is pressed.
