File (re)naming token - image folder
Hi guys,
Is it possible to have files renamed to the PARENT image folder?
I'm mostly using sessions which "forces" you to place the originals in ""Capture".
This results in filenames like "Capture DSC1050.ARW".
It would be soooooo much easier if you could select the name of the parent folder which is the name of the actual event/project.
This would result in names like: "2015-10-30 Project-X DSC1050.ARW".
Of course it's possible I've overlooked this, please tell me if it's so (and where to find it).
If it's not already available I'd say this is a requested feature 😊
The functionality will be great if you can select which level up you want to use, look at the "Digit Counter" token but then make it "Parent Folder" level 1 to 5 to go further up the directory structure?

You can tell C1 to create a folder anywhere you like (in effect) or choose one you made earlier on import to a session.
A subfolder under the Capture folder (Originally Capture was only created for Tethered sessions but the distinction between a tethered and untethered session was eliminated with the introduction of V8 iirc) makes sense since you have a way to group folders for later disc activity admin of the session.
From a session you can open any folder - it does not have to be in the session's default folder structure.
I think you will find what you are looking for with a little more digging into the functionality. There are some useful videos around as well and a few other guides that may help discover what is possible more quickly than "random" experimentation. 😉
You would need fairly recent tutorials for the token naming options - the functionality was introduced since the launch of V8. V8.2 iirc.
HTH.

This may start you off. Somewhere around 5 to 6 minutes onwards for specific reference but I would suggest you watch from the beginning.0 -
Thank you!
You motivated to dig a bit deeper into this and I found what I was looking for.
The token that can be used (in my case with earlier mentioned hierarchy) is "Document Name" 😊
To illustrate, the directory structure I use:
P:/2015/2015-10-30 Project-X/Capture
... etc0
