moving your catalog from place to authors ist not efficient,
if you want to transport your shooting works from Mac Pro to Imac " Home" this is how i do:
    1. on the Mac Pro (Outside Shooting ) i use Sessions
    2. On the Imac at Home i use Catalog.
    3. Open Catalog on the mac and go to "import Session" 😉
bather way i found that the rending Thumbnail in C1 8.1 with OSX 10.10 works slowly it doesn't matter if you use Sessions or Catalog ❗️

    Thanks for the reply,

However I want to continue editing pictures on the 2 machines.
If I am in studio I edit on the MacPro, but if I go home I want to take the Catalog offline with me and continue rating and keywording and editing on the MacBook laptop at home or on the road.
So the use of sessions to import in the Catalog later is not really what I need, but thx anyway for the idea.

    Kind greetings,

OK ,,,, another Idea i have
if you use the USB Drive Method
just like a 16 Gb USB with OSX HD Drive format and then let C1 knows it on Both PC device as external Drive
maybe help you better then sending it to Dropbox or Icloud 💡

I use to sync my Macbook <-> MacPro. Works flawlessly with CO-sessions.
