Re-Image every 3 weeks?
Hey all-
I was speaking to a digital tech the other day who was telling me he re-images his shoot mac every three weeks? This seems like a problem to me. If an app requires you to re-image your workstation this often, something is wrong with the app? OR, this guy is not troubleshooting correctly? What do you guys find to be true?

hey...
There is nothing wrong with the application or the OS... The guy is not not troubleshooting correctly (I think).
I "re-image" every 2 to 3 months... The reason is quite simple there is so many files being created/deleted/moved... the system gets clogged with temp files, etc, etc, etc...
It's most of the time faster to simply re-image then to start cleaning the crap away...
In my case there is no backup (beside pictures) to do since I do not use the same MAC for photoshoot and for e-mail, billing...
Re-imaging will take about 1 hour. including updates.
Also... you spoke to a TECH... not a USER... there is a huge difference beteween both. The tech is looking forward to spend time with his computer... The USER on the other hand, He depend on a TECH to make his computer experience enjoyable...
My POV...
