Sharpening CO3 Pro vs. CO4
I compared the RAW-Conversion of the same photo in CO3 and CO4. To my mind the pictures have very high default values for sharpening. Here three examples (100% crop): The first one shows the default values in CO4, which shows some nasty grid patterns when e.g. looking on the green leaves in front of the yellow railway engine. For the second picture I used lower sharpening settings, the patterns disappeared but the picture is definitely less sharp than the third picture converted with CO3 Pro (default values), which shows nearly the sharpness of the first picture but without those patterns. Am I doing something wrong?

Hi hcl, I don't think you are doing anything wrong. I believe you just started to explore the different sharpening algorithm in CO4 (compared to CO3). In other words, keep on experimenting with amount, radius and treshold until you are satisfied.
CO4 has a very different approach in sharpening the CO3, so we will have to find the best value ourselves. By the way, I like the first the most. And both CO4 conversions are also much better in color rendition too.
Good luck.0
