C1 5.02 & 5D MkII Tethered

Since my upgrade to 5.02 from 4.8, I'm experiencing periods of non responsiveness from the software during capture. This generally happens several hundred exposures into a shoot. C1 will stop updating previews, and the camera buffer will fill up. If I wait several minutes, the normal functions will resume. The files will be downloaded, and the camera buffer cleared. On a long shoot, this may happen many times. I have not been able to isolate a specific condition that will cause this.

I've tried multiple USB cables, shooting slower, a completely different computer with the same boot drive, removing all other devices from the USB ports. Nothing seems to help.

2.8 GHz Quad core w/ 6 gigs of ram. OS 10.5.8


I tried to start a support case, but the new system does not show my product registration.

  Regarding the support case, skip the product registration field; it is for Phase One hardware only.

  I have had a long history of failure on tether with the 5D II and C1 Pro. I am now using 5.02 and the same issues keep happening. Unlike the previous poster I can't get the program to unfreeze. The only thing that works is opening the battery cover in the grip and force quitting the program. I can almost guarantee it will happen during a session but not always deep in. It usually happens when I shoot fast. I have sent in a support ticket a number of times. The folks at Phase One are trying but no solution seems to have been found. They have not been able to recreate the issue. I am posting here with the hope that someone has found a solution.
  Here is some info: Macbook pro 10.6.2 using only the internal hard drive. 4 GB RAM
  Any thoughts are most appreciated.
