Catalog Improvements Progress?

Where are we now in bringing the catalog part of CO closer to the capabilities of Lightroom and Aperture? Smoothly working with a powerful cataloging manager is important for me and CO isn't there yet. But I'm always hoping that "one more update" will bring enough capabilities to allow me to shed Lightroom.
