version 8 on El Capitan
A recent post under the version 9 forum stated that version 8 under El Capitan is not supported. I had not heard this, nor do I have any reason to believe it without some statement from C1 saying that this is true. Has anyone seen or heard anything to indicate that version 8 under EC is not supported? This is relatively important to me since I have not (yet) upgraded and I am running EC on my Mac.

Taken from official v8.3.4 release notes: Highlights, Capture One 8.3.4
...
OS support
* Mac OS X 10.11
...
I have successfully been running 8.3.4 on 17" MBP mid2009 and El Cap until v9 was released. Without openCL, because it is not supported on that old MBP even when set to 'auto'.
Not impressed by El Cap, btw.

Did you respond to them that their release notes specifically say that 8.X is supported on 10.11?0 -
I have a feeling this was a timing problem between the Capture One roadmap and the OS X roadmap. Version 9 wasn't ready on time for El Capitan. Version 8 was probably never supposed to support El Capitan. But then Apple released 10.11 and they quickly had to make another version 8 fix release, which didn't solve all problems. Then they released version 9 and looking at all the issues, that was too early.
I would not expect to get El Capitan support for free. You buy the software as it is and at that time OS 10.10 was the current OS X version. As customer we can expect bug fixes because that's what we paid for.
But a problem is now, that 8.3.4 was released as supporting El Capitan and still seems to have some bugs. Then those bugs should be fixed.0 -

Especially if the last version 8 release notes specifically said that it was supported on El Capitan.0 -
