Process one version with the shodows opened up either via the curve, exposure sliders, by selecting a different camera profile that gives extended shadow detail, or by hook or by crook.

Then process another version that looks good overall.

Once in Photoshop, layer the file with the extended shadow detail ontop of the normal image, go to Layer>>Add Layer Mask>>Hide All. Then with a hard or soft brush with whatever opacity you desire, brush in the open shadows. If the shadows have a cast because of all the goosing that was done to it in CO, click on that layers icon in the layers pallette, and slowley desaturate your shadow image.

    Michael:

What do you mean \"Netherlands\"? Phase One is based in Denmark...

I noted your post about Verizon blocking emails because I had a nightmare activating C1 last weekend but I was told that was because the activation servers had been down. True, because I could activate on Monday. Mind you, I'm not subscribing to Verizon but as you know all major ISP are inter-connected in North America. 😊

BTW, I will try this shadowing process.

    Normand:

    yes ...Denmark.

However, ALL servers with non-authenticating software are blocked by Verizon and there are many across Europe.

The email is simply blocked and one never knows it. A huge class action suit is in process based in Ireland.

In any event I stomped so loudly that they relented and I can post and get access here.

    Thanks to Keith and yourself.

Just getting used to digital camera histograms and the Zone System, from which I came (Mostly 8X10 transparencies)
