A few problems in the v10 online documentation

Maybe the issues of broken links and images not loading are repaired. I can see them without problems.
Regarding the function keys for new/clone variants, the F2/F3 combo is for Mac. On Windows it is F7/F8 as you stated correctly.0 -

Still no way to open these images. Paul, I think you are just seeing the thumbnails as I see them. Can you really open them ?0 -

I find that the images in your first link (Working with colours) won't open for me, either.

Well, some time has passed so things may have changed but I have no problem with that link at this time.

How strange. I can open the page, but still the screenshots it includes don't open when I click their thumbnails. (By comparison, the screenshots on the other page in the original post, about clones and variants open just fine.) I have tried with two different browsers (Safari and Firefox).

Flaky on the "colours..." page here too, Ian (using Opera) - just a spinning wheel.
By right-clicking/opening in a new tab (which should open the image as "just" an image, bypassing the javascript used to generate the pop-up large image), the images all point to a "page not found" message...0 -
The problem is that this page contains numerous links to the CO9 documentation. Among them the links to the actual images. Actually, the same page in the CO9 documentation has the very same problem.
This mix up was already a problem with the previous versions of the online documentation : co9 doc referring to the co8 doc, itself referring to the co7 doc... It should not be difficult for the author of these pages to use the ubiquitous Find feature of the HTML editor in order to locate those back links (I can't believe that this back chaining of the current to the older documentations is intentional).0 -
In this page , go to the end of the Introduction section and click on Find out more information on Local Adjustments. You're now in the co9 documentation. If you don't notice this, you'll never go back to the co10 documentation. However, you have good chances to jump to the co8 documentation and possibly to the co7 documentation when clicking on another link.
I don't understand. I have reported this problem multiple times in the past year and I have been told that everything had been cleaned up. Nope.0 -

It's a wonder since the images pointed to by these links actually don't exist.0 -
I have had a deeper look at the source code of these pages and the problem is even worse as I thought. In the pages where the images are available, they often do not belong to the current documentation. For example, in , the first image (Overview of correction profiles) comes from the CO8 documentation (view-source:http://help.phaseone.com/en/CO10/Editing-photos/Lens-Correction-Composition/~/media/Online%20Help%20-%20Capture%20One/Icons/ICONS-ONLINE-HELP/All%20sections/CO8/5-Editing-photos/Lens-Correction-Tool/LensCorrectionIntro.ashx).
So even if you can actually open an image in the co10 documentation, you can't be assured that it is relevant for this version.
Totally messy. This job was certainly done by a trainee. If I had purchased a USD 20 shareware, I could admit a few problems in the doc. At that price level, it's just unacceptable.0 -

Agreed - very shoddy.
It has long been the case that Phase One's online presence (including the user guides) has been more about style than (useful, usable) content.0 -
The problems I have reported above have been fixed. Thanks.
I'll continue to report my findings here.0 -
Most screen captures in the v10 doc are from v9 or v8. I have also seen a video from v7. Although the UI differences between v9 and v10 are not very significant, this can be sometimes misleading. 0 -
On this page http://help.phaseone.com/en/CO10/Editin ... esets.aspx , in the "Stack or un-stacked styles and presets" section at the bottom, the link "Adjustments Tool Tab" jumps to the v8 documentation. 0 -
Don't feel obliged to to Phase One's job for them, Samoreen - it's their web content, not yours. 0 -

I'll stop anyway. But posting enough documentation bug reports on the forum could eventually convince them that something must be done about it. They obviously didn't believe me last year when I made the same kind of reports about v9.
Regarding the PDF file, there's nothing to do with it. It's just a joke.0 -
I certainly agree that it's incredibly half-arsed of Phase One not to sort out their documentation - it's a frankly ridiculous situation - but they seem hell-bent on not fixing this, so personally I've given up on it.
A few videos, webinars and random tricks from the "Image Professor" do not replace detailed, complete and working user guidance, Phase One - there's no excuse for this.0 -
By the way, the "Choose your language" command at the top of the help pages is just a joke. Only a few (not all) menus and button labels are translated but the documentation is in English anyway. Not a problem for me but what about the non English speaking customers ? 0 -

The PDF file is totally unusable anyway. There's no table of contents (no menu) and clicking on any link brings you to the online documentation. Since a PDF is mainly used offline, it's totally useless.
Still not fixed.0 -
