Default printer for capture One?
Is there any way to assign a default printer in Capture One? I have two printers, a Brother laser printer (system default) and an Epson R1900 (used for photo printing). There is no “Page setup…†menu item in Capture One, so I have to use the “Print…†dialog. The steps I have to follow after selecting “Print†are as follows:
1. Select “Page setup…†in the Capture One print dialog. Strangely, the Epson is selected, so nothing to do.
2. Select “Print settings…†in the dialog. The Brother is selected, so I have to select the Epson here. I then have to select the “Print†button to save the choice, even though it really doesn’t print anything.
3. Back in the Capture One print dialog, select all the settings and options I want, and print.
Pretty convoluted and not Mac standard, but I can live with it for an initial setup. The problem is that if I quit Capture One and start it up later, I have to go through the same series of steps since there doesn’t appear to be any that I can see to save the printer choice. Am I missing something, or is this just an issue with the way Capture One does things?

You could check in your Mac's System Preferences > Printers & Scanners > Default Printer setting and set it to a specific printer (your Epson for example). Not sure it helps. 0 -
The laser printer is used for most everyday tasks, while the Epson is used only for photo printing. Aperture does remember the Epson as being the printer to use, even though the system default is something different. It would be nice if C1 could do the same thing, particularly for those folks who have more than one printer attached to their system (I have 3).

Makes perfect sense Ken, maybe you would like to take the effort to open a support case and list it as a feature request. 0
