Check your output recipe settings. My guess would be that either quality or size (or both) are set too low.

(That said, I can't see any loss of detail in your screenshot).

They are displaying at different sizes. The C1 tif (16bit tif?) presentation is smaller despite displaying at 105% if the info line above the image is to be believed. The LH image seems to be 8bit at 109%.

You have processed the RAW file through different systems.

There are many who would suggest the RH image is showing less shadow noise than the LH image and would prefer that - especially for a portrait.

Also if you look at the very dark areas in the hair - especially next to the neck - there is a suggestion that the LH image has slightly LESS detail than the RH image. Less precise colour separation in the dark areas could potentially lead to a little more perceived graininess in certain shadow areas. Whether one prefers the graininess or a smoother result is, I suppose, a matter of personal preference (both photographer and client.)

It's a bit meaningless, in my opinion, to compare the two images without considering the conversion settings used and any further edit adjustments that may have been applied, especially in terms of sharpening and noise reduction but also considering colour handling and certain other settings that can be influential when drilling down into great detail.

Just my opinion of course. Many people will, no doubt, have a different view.

    Grant.

ARW is 109.25% view size, TIFF is 104.81%? (could be a PS draw error)

It's not really a problem: you're using two different RAW converters, so you get different results.

If you want to boost details, you can try the sharpening tool, and/or turn noise reduction down, and/or use the clarity/structure tool, etc.

Learn how to use C1 and you should get great results.

Looks like better details coming out of C1 in regard to details, especially in the shadows

I think I would prefer that to "noisy" under chin shadows but if we all liked the same thing the world could be a less interesting place.

But presumably "happy" because everyone would like everything?
