catalog folders panel completely empty
Hi - I'm new to EM2 so this could be me - have set up a new catalog, imported circa 150 dng files and have started organising / tagging etc. When I completed this process I moved my files from a working folder to an archive folder, and used the reset paths function to re-point the catalogue to the right place. I had all sorts of bother with this, and I'm now in a situation whereby, even with a brand new catalogue, importing files leaves the catalog folders panel completely empty. I'm concerned that if I carry on without fixing this issue now, I'll leave a big headache for myself further down the line. Anyone experienced this? Do I need to uninstall/reinstall? Help appreciated. Regards Nige. PS. Running on windows vistax64, EM2 SP2.0.2096.0.

Update. I've uninstalled, reinstalled, same behaviour. Maybe it's me not understanding how EM2 works properly.
In a nutshell, from an empty, brand new catalogue, if I import a file (e.g. through drag and drop, or by 'import items'), then the files all appear in main window just fine (thumbnail, list or media view), however the little "catalog folders" panel at the bottom left is completely empty. The only thing I can click on there is the lightning bolt, which gives me options for folder watching and folder hierarchies. I cannot see any directory structures in this window.
I'm stumped, and I don't want to carry on adding more images into the catalog if it turns out that something has corrupted.
I'll raise a support ticket - I was hoping (naively!) that someone would point out the obvious blunder or misunderstanding that I've had...!
Thanks

What happens when you drag and drop a whole folder instead of separate files?

Thanks for the reply and apologies for the delay in responding - this is a hobby for me so I don't get much time! Same behaviour - it imports the photos perfectly well, with the organise panel populating as one would expect, however the folders panel doesn't show anything. Most annoying. This was working well enough before I ran into that problem changing the folder path, so I've obviously messed something up. What is puzzling is that an uninstall/reinstall didn't do the trick. I'll have to log a support call when I get a moment.
thanks again
