Problem syncing CO libraries between discs...
Hi,
I've an external disc with all my photos and a CO library (80k photos). I copied the CO library on my MBP for easy viewing of the catalog also when I don't here my external disc with me. Of course photos are referenced in the CO library. Now after editing using the catalog on the external disc I use rsync or ChronoSync to update the CO catalog copy on the MBP. I noticed that this does not result in a perfect copy as in the copy new photos don't always appear and previews show wrong photos (need to regenerate previews). Should this just work and is there something wrong with my syncing? Or is there something that syncing misses?

I am not sure I understand what it is you are doing. You say you copied the C1 catalog from the MBP, but didn't say where you moved it: to the external drive or to the internal drive of a desktop?
It is important that C1 be closed when you copy and paste a catalog.
It sounds like you are editing on a desktop and then trying to transfer the catalog back to the MBP using chronosynch (from the external drive?)
Again it is important that C1 be closed when copying the catalog file.
Where are you selecting the images you are trying to view in C!. I presume you are in the library tab. Are you using a gallery or directly selecting a drive folder? If the drive folder is on the hard drive you are moving back and forth from machine to machine then I would have expected the images to link up without having to "locate" them.
Perhaps rather than using chronosynch you should try a simple copy and paste of the C1 catalog.
I have not had a similar problem and do move back and forth from a laptop to a desktop - I admit it gets frustrating at times.0
