Shooting tethered w/ Canon 50d c1-6x and vista 64
New to C1 and would greatly appreciate help in learning how to set up a tethered shoot with the above gear.
I will likely be in a single room or office for several days importing to my dsktop computer with my Lacie 324 monitor.
How, exactly do I go about setting up a tethered shoot the client can see on that monitor, please?
Thanks very much!

Connect your camera with a USB cable to your computer. Make sure only Capture Pro 6 starts (no other software should hijack the connection) and open the Capture tool tab. You can now release the camera from both the camera and the software and images should open in CO6.
This CO 5 tutorial shows you the basics of the CO tools involved. Note that CO 6 has some improvements, in particular in capture naming. The first few seconds, sound is missing on the video.

Note: you must use Pro, not Express (although there is a workaround incase you have Express).0 -
Rob,
There are some videos here
http://www.phaseone.com/Phase%20One/Sof ... e-6.aspx#3
that should quickly explain what to do.
Unless you have an iPad handy forget the ones that show Capture Pilot (to start with) and go for the others
Once you have the software installed it should be as easy as connecting the camera to the computer with a USB cable and then using the appropriate menu for Capture in C1 to confirm the camera selection. The Video that explains this for the IQ back also applies to any other recognised camera for all practical purposes. Works very well in my experiments with a Canon 1D3 and a USB cable. To make everything 'contained' for you client be sure to set up a session for their specific shoot. Not much to do - C1 should guide you through a naming exercise and then set things up for you. There's a video to demonstrate that as well.
C1 will also work on a 'watched folder' mode which means that I can alternatively skip the cable and use a Wireless File Transfer device to deposit the images on the computer and have C1 display them as they arrive. That's a little trickier than the cable method as you need to be able to make the wireless it work. I'm guessing you may not have a WFT device for the 50D. They are not exactly commonly used items given the price.
Whether you need the full control of the camera from the computer or maybe use live view whilst working with the client is up to you - there are possibilities there too.
HTH.
