New Powermac Core and "bugs" in C4
I made a large investment in a new Powermac and used C1 v4 today for the first time on this system. My initial impressions are pro and con.
For starters, the proccessing speed is much much faster than it was on my G5. That is a wonderful thing. On the other hand, v4 does weird things as well.
As I was proccessing one batch of images, I went to review a second folder. I clicked on the folder to open it and the first three images began to load......and then stopped.
Then the folder I had selected began to show that it was "open" and then "closed" and back and forth. It toggled/strobed as if a ghost were clicking in the folder open and closed back and forth and did not stop. I tried several times to highlight other folders with no resolve. Then I clicked another folder and then went back to the second folder and it loads the images all of a sudden just fine. ???
V4 also crashed on me for no apparent reason as I was working.
In conclusion, yes I think it operates better on an Intel machine as it is suposed to. And in my experience, it is still buggy. Unless there is some kind of fresh preference file I should take care of or something I should delete.
I did do a migrate from my G5 so this was not a clean fresh install so to speak.
Open for suggestions on solving the bugs.

Dana,
I can give you the following suggestions.
When moving from a PPC Mac to Intel Mac I would prefer a fresh installation for applications and not migrate them. This is because many applications install different binaries (=program files) for these different platforms.
Of course it is an easy task to remove and re-install CO4. Check whether you have the latest update (CO 4.0.1.14900 as of today) or download CO4 again to be sure.
For any settings file that you like to renew, you can (re)move any or all of the following:
- Remove Capture One.col from ~/Pictures/Capture One Library
- Remove the ~/Library/Capture One folder
- Remove the preference plist file com.phaseone.captureone.plist from ~/Library/Preferences
Remove a file or folder when CO4 is closed.0
