Nikon D800 image downloading problem.
Hi
Having been a very satisfied user of Capture One with a Nikon D300 for 2-3 years I have just invested a lot of money in a Nikon D800 and have run into problems.
My card readers wont read the CF card namely SanDisk SDHC UHS-1 32Gb this I understand and will have to replace the card readers.
Nikons ViewNX will see the camera and download RAW images ok and I can place them into Capture One folders for subsequent processing.
Capture One does not allow me to download via USB lead folders on camera are not selectable.
Has anybody any ideas as I said I know I will have to replace my card readers to use new technology but is it possible to download via USB directly into Capture One? Or am I missing something?
Many thanks in advance.

The SanDisk card you mention is a SD type card, not CF. You need a fairly new type of SD (or multi) card reader to be able to read this high capacity card. Which card reader are you using?0 -
Hi
Sorry for the typo getting very confused a lot to learn with a new camera, its a Belken 3 port hub of a few years ago. Looking to purchase SanDisk USB3 reader I think this will solve the problem. I have always prefered to transfer this way rather than through USB lead but wondered if it was possible to do this straight into Capture One?
Many thanks for taking the time to help.

The Belkin reader most probably won't be able to read into the high capacity SDHC (or SDXC) card. You can check this easily from the Windows Explorer. If a lower, older SD or CF card shows up in the Explorer, but the SDHC 32 GB card not, this combo is not going to fly. Next, CO6 or any other application won't be able to see it either. You can also shoot with an older card in your D800 and import images from the card (at least for a test).
As you correctly stated, you can not read images over a USB lead from the camera into CO6.
As you suggested I suggest a dedicated SDXC card reader. I believe SanDisk is providing at least one type.0 -
