Progess wheel keeeps spinning, spinning...
Its been days and the Progress Wheel keeps spinning.
In the past I have seen this spin when the app is building icons but this seems to be done - no progress bar - and its been days that I've left the app & file open after building the catalogue.
Anybody have any advice? What would cause this?
Thanks,
Kent

So it turns out that a few jpgs were "building" icons. Once these were selected and built manually the spinning whell went away.
So. Why wouldn't certain jpgs not 'build' and how can I identify and isolate any in the catalogue that don't build, other than visually by scanning the whole list in Thumbnail Mode?
And better yet, why would certain images NOT build and how can I identify the 'problem'?
Thanks again,

I use an iMac with OS 10.5.8. Media Pro V 1.0.1.50536
In the last two days Media Pro has bombed or become corrupted twice.
The first time I was creating a new catalog. I moved pictures from Bridge (CS5) onto the Media Pro screen. To add more pictures, I decided to try import. While importing, a symbol revolving at the bottom right of the catalog indicated it was running, though no picture numbers appeared. The pictures were there but the icon continued to revolve. I came back an hour later. I clicked on the catalog window and the movement in the lower right corner began. I was going to Force Quit, but my Mac didn't recognize it as needing Force Quit. Whether I restarted or disconnected the Mac electrical connection and plugged it in again and booted up, I do not recall.
I reinstalled Media Pro.
It bombed again yesterday, but I didn't realize it until today. Yesterday I tried to upload to the support site 8± pictures. A message not only said it could only take 3 pictures but gave me computer information I did not understand, indicating that this change to my system would make it possible for them to be uploaded. Terminal was not mentioned, and it occurred to me the directions may have been for a pc.
In both instances, I used Disk Utility, but it did not correct the problem.
Today in opening the second installed Media Pro from my drop down menu or by clicking on it, nothing happened and there was no message. When I selected Media Pro in my applications folder, I used Command>o and received a message: You can't open the application "Media Pro" because it is not supported on this architecture."
I have just reinstalled Media Pro again so it is running now.

Like Kent M, the progress wheel just keeps spinning and spinning and it's now been DAYS!!!
I can't find the limits for the program specified anywhere... is there a maximum number of images that can be cataloged? Is there a physical file size limit for the catalog? (I'm up to 3gb now.)
I keep getting a Rendering is disabled message and at first it only seemed to be there with older TIFF files that were produced with a Canon 1D (the original 1D which called its RAW file format "TIF") but suddenly it's with everything and not even thumbnails that were showing up earlier are now showing.
As a long-time registered user of C1Pro, I had faith in the company and the products, but I can't help but feel that Media Pro 1 isn't ready for prime time yet. I regret having purchased it before it's a stable product.
Any updates coming? Soon?0 -

As does mine. However, I ignore it, as it doesn't seem to be real.
However, I keep the lower part of the window open that shows the current action or activity (click in the lower right on my pc screen). If that shows any activity, I don't try to do anything else until the activity is completed. That way I avoid most crashes.0 -
I have the same frustration (Mac 10.5.😎. I import files and they all show up in "List", but only the odd one appears as a thumbnail. Spin, spin, spin.
I've reloaded MP twice. Very disappointing. I love C! but I'm going back to LR for keywording/cataloguing.

Well, 1.1 seems to have solved the problem, and it does integrate very well with C! - so back to keywording on MP!

I agree. Much better, though not perfect. My save fcn on Win 7 is flakey.
I also like the C1 integration, which is the primary reason I bought it.
Now, if they can figure out a solution for variants - not an easy problem. They need to read a virtual file.0
