D810 conversion possible by altering EXIF

For those interested, I have successfully altered D810 RAW images in Capture One Pro 7 by altering the EXIF data to read D800E instead of D810. Results look great. 😄

I used EXIF Pilot to alter the EXIF data.

  Just out of curiosity: Did the pixel size after altering, editing and exporting to TIFF stays original for your files? For me I went up loosing a few pixels on the long edge and a few pixels were added to the short edge.

  Well, after saving to TIFF, the D810 is 7316 x 4916 pixels - which is the file size for the D800E - instead of the actual 7360 x 4912 that it should have, so, it appears as though we gain some and lose some. 😕

  Well, altering the EXIF works, but Capture One locks up constantly!! 😡
