Import Question
I'm still new at this so please bear with me. When I tried to do an import of a single image on my iMac desktop the file name is greyed out. When I that same image (.nef file) into a folder it imports fine. Is there some reason it doesn't want to import a single file on the desktop.
Thanks!!
Thanks!!

It seems to me that the design mindset behind Cap1 import is that all you are doing is selecting a folder (clicking on "Open" in the folders dialogue). Then afterwards, you have the chance select which (or all) of the fotos you want from the selected folder in the "import screen".
On my iMac, all files are greyed out all the time during the folder selection process. Yet, if I select the Desktop as the folder, the file I had moved there shows up fine in the import display, and then allows an actual import without an error.0 -

It's important to understand which CO you're using (i assume 9.x since you're posting here) and which OSX version. Then, we'd need to know whether you're using a catalog or a session.
I'm assuming you're using a catalog, then the import is pointed at a folder, not at individual files. Within the import dialog you have the option to exclude individual files for import.0 -
If you select the desktop as the import folder, do you see you image? 0 -
Sorry. Yes, I'm using C1 9 latest update. Also OS X El Capitan. And, am using the catalog. I now see it is pointed at a folder.

So everything solved for you. Great 😊 0
