Live View, D850, PTP (?)

When I try to enable Live View under C1P 12.1.4 (11/11/19) using a D850 on a MacBook Pro/Mojave, I get a split second error message on the screen that says "Live View on cameras connected via PTP not supported," or something to that effect. Anyone know what PTP is or how to disable it? It actually sounds like the cameras is going into LV, but there is nothing on the laptop screen. Thanks for any insights.

  So now this is getting to be insane. I turned on everything and loaded C1P today and all of the sudden without changing anything on my camera, I got a LiveView real time display. Worked for about an hour when my battery died. When I replaced the battery and tried to get back to LV, C1P gave me the same error message from yesterday, which was that LV wasn't supported with devices using PTP. No reply from the company.
