I have been working with a PhotoprojectXXX, aprox. 1200 photos, first major project since moving from Aperture - like it alot.
And now first major problem, som edited and none edited photos has been write protected, I have edited them at the same time a couple of days ago maybe a week.

The other difference to the editable pictures i feilds for IPTC - Contact has been disabled.
Both RAW (Sony ARW)photos ar in the same folder.

Have checked, it is still registered, (had the DB version problem during trial version).
Used Photolinker to Geotag (EXIF - GPS) pictures.

It is possible that the EXIF edits have made the file unrecognisable as a supported file type.
Can you make a support case with two files (one that works and one that doesn't) so we can see if we can suggest a fix.0 -
Did you solve this problem – i have the same issue here. Capture One 8 Pro 8.1.1 0 -
This seems to be a widespread issue. I noticed this post from Rupert on the first page of the Phase One forums and I too have run into it.
I am 5 days into a Capture One Pro trial and have just discovered that lots of imported images are being reported as being Read-Only. I can't confirm that it was possible to edit them when they were first imported (2 days ago) although I suspect that I would have noticed the Read-Only icon (pencil with a line through it) before now. I don't know what could have happened to cause this between the import and now. I see the icon on most but not all images in a particular folder, all of which reside in the same folder on my Mac (OSX 10.10.2). I checked permissions on the folder and files, all appears to be ok.
As I hadn't edited any of the images yet, I selected File > 'Remove from Catalog' and then re-imported them. Interestingly, they re-imported without the Read-Only icon and I am free to edit them again.
This is OK right now because I hadn't done any edits on the images, but if it were to happen to images that I had already edited, I seems like I would lose all of my edits by doing this. I just tested it after converting an image that wasn't Read-Only to B&W then removing it from the collection and re-importing it again. This is quite a concern.... 😕 I think I will create a support ticket too.

Let's wait for the next update 😊.
I got some locked files as well0 -
I'm hoping they can fix this soon as I've only got 19 days left of my trial... Not being edit images doesn't help me evaluate image editing software very well! I have a support call pending.. 0
