tif looks different in ps and co10
I am using a prophoto work flow. But I must be missing something because an unedited nef (proof profile prophoto) looks the same as the prophoto tif viewed in photoshop. But when I compare the nef and tif in capture one they look different - the tif is noticeably brighter in the shadows and the histogram is different. Is anyone else experiencing this and any suggestions as to what I may be doing wrong would be appreciated.

Hi,
How do you generate your tiff's ? From the nef opened in PS (resp. Capture One) and then converted to tiff ?0 -
First check the image at 100% with the images opened in the software. The color of the small preview may be off due to incorrectly calculating highlights in some situations. If it is still different, turn off OpenGL in Photoshop performance preferences.
Be sure that you are using your output profile as the proof profile in Capture One and that it is being kept in Photoshop, and not soft proofed.
There may be very minor differences due to profile handling and the fact that one is file is raw, and the other is processed.0 -
Thank you
Certainly at 100% the difference between the NEF and the TIF viewed in CO10 is not as significant as when viewed with the images fit to screen.0
