Removal of Keywords C1P 8.3
Hi Folks,
I've restructured my Catalogue within CAP1 so that that it allows me to access all that I need by Year through a hierarchical folder structure to the HHMMSS of any Image. I no longer require the Keywords.
Does anyone know how to completely remove said Keywords ? I assume they are kept in a Config file, not within a database structure but do not know which file to delete. Or indeed whether there is a routine I can run which will purge my Keywords entirely.
Any thoughts please?

I asked tech support on this topic, their reply was that it is currently not possible to remove keywords, but that they are revising the handling of keywords. So we will see that in a future update I guess. I did not get any info on where the keywords are actually stored.

Hi,
it depends on how the Keywords have been created - database and/ or (Mac *.plist File) Windows I have never verified - Registry or any *.ini file0 -
I've done more research on this and although it's plain to see that no database is being used for Keywords, Relational or otherwise, the Keywords are being stored but I assume in the Metadata construct for each image.
It has to be said that C1P is primarily a RAW image capture/editor and in that area it simply excels. In my opinion there is nothing out there at the moment that comes anywhere near its capabilities. However if Phase One [P1] intend to challenge Lightroom‘s DAM capabilities, they still have work to do. Again this is only my opinion but I believe the current DAM facilities in C1P are at best basic, in the Keyword department, Lightroom simply blows it out of the water. If P1 can get this under control, then I don't believe they'll have any competition out there.
My current workflow is now C1P for RAW Capture/editing [Sessions] and Lightroom for DAM. Once P1 improve in the DAM/Cataloguing aspects I will fully migrate my workflow.0
