Is this affected by whether you have the button selected in the toolbar that toggles between adjusting one variant oral the selected ones? (It looks like three stacked rectangles.)

    Hi,
I'm trying to update meta data or "sync" it from the originals. It works one image at a time, but I cannot figure out how to get it to do this across all images (I have about 1,000 to do this for).

I go into the metadata tab and click on the "Sync Metadata" option under the "..." drop-down, and even with multiple images selected, it will only update one.

Not sure what Sync Metadata does, might be in connection with the XMP sidecar files. However, if you are trying to load metadata that's saved in your Originals/Raw, just select your desired images in the browser, right-click on one of them and select Load Metadata. This will update all selected variants at once.

I posted a similar question as yours and subsequently found an easy solution. Populate the metadata for one photo, create and save a metadata preset for the fields you want to apply to other photos, select all other photos for which you want the same metadata and apply the preset.
