Future support for Canon EOS 1DS Mk3
Hi,
Does anyone know if Phase One are planning to offer camera support for the Canon EOS 1DS Mk3. If so, what is the likely timescale and will this support be
be available for version 3.7.
Thanks,
Stephen.

Yes we are, but time frame is hard to say when they just start shipping and we do not have access to cameras until they start shipping. 0 -
Many thanks for the quick and positive reply.

I've bought the Eos 1DS MK3 friday 30 nov. When is Capture one pro updated? The Beta Capture one 4 is already working with the new camera. So what's the problem? 0 -
Well as I have mentioned before the 3.7.x platform is a much more complicated platform which is much more cumbersome when it comes to implementing new camera support. This is one of the very reasons we are developing 4.0
It takes a fraction of the time to implement a new camera in CO4 compared to CO3 never the less we are working on it.0 -

that green is awesome isn't it? you CAN just make changes in color, "copy" the adjustments and "apply" them to the rest. of course later it crashed anyway so - whatever. it currently sucks.0 -
Any new news on CO v3xx and support for the Canon 1DsMKIII? 0 -
Sorry, No News on 3.7.8 and additional DSLR support.
Re: Green Images
we've seen this on other DSLRs when using the in-camera Custom WB settings, i.e. AUTO, CUSTOM, KELVIN
All cases were resolved by Not Using them.
Set an in-camera preset for WB and not a Custom setting.
Review Knowledge Base Tips & Tricks article for good WB:

See if this works for the Mk III and let us know.

should this be a new thread to get the info out?
Do I understand correctly, I can set the 1DsMk III to "sun", or "cloudy" but NOT to also adjust the Amber/Blue - Green/Magenta ????
In "camera preset" ?
I basically always quickly choose sun.shade, clouds, tungsten or fl ...
is the problem only with the other micro adjustments?0 -
jwestpro,
I've linked or quoted this to a couple other threads where this was asked.
When a DSLR uses a Custom setting, these WB meta data are accurately interpreted by the camera's software, but Capture One does the best it can to interpret these data.
With some camera models it can do a good intepretation while others it is off and in some cases way off, i.e. Green Images
Using an in-camera preset resolves this, and you get more consistent images than using AUTO which can vary depending on model from 3000 K to 7000 K
I do remember a case or two with image problems like this where the culprit was another software program to download/rename images before Capture One. In this situation, it altered the RAW data to a point where the WB information was outright misinterpreted.

ok, but we are not talking about a little "greenish". the image is totally green as if a 30G filter were over the lens. 0 -
If this is with preset WB, No other custom settings and no other program used before loading to Capture One, then you need to create a Support Case and upload a RAW image file where this problem occurs.
Provide detailed descriptions on system and workflow.

This is all crap. The practically silly Capture 4 cannot save to certain drives, gives an error message about "read only" which is crap because everything else including C1 pro writes the processed files to the drive - and the C1 pro cannot recognize 1DsmkIII raw files!
This is all pretty unacceptable. You spend all the energy on Capture 4 but it isn't done while letting the pro version fall behind.
I may not continue use of this software and thus end the relationship.0
