Where do the trash files go when you hit delete
In C1 Pro 3.7.8 when you deleted a raw file it when into a trash file and the file extension for my Canon said Filename.CR2.Trashed. In C1 Pro 4.8.1 there are no trashed files and there are Cr2.Trashed files in the image folder. If I want to retrieve a trashed file where are they kept in 4.8.1?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Bill,
Someone may correct me, but i believe that when you press delete in v4, it deletes. If they are over a network then the files are gone, if on your local machine they should be found in your recycle bin. Our photographer found that out the hard way (i tried to explain, but she didn't understand till she did it). We backup our RAW files immediately so it was no big deal, just a pain.0 -
Cynthia;
Thanks for your reply! When I hit the delete key the image is removed but it does not appear in my recycle bin.0 -
The Trash or Delete options have evolved to its current state since the release of CO 4. The Windows recycle bin has been part of it for some time, but that is history. In CO 4.8.x you have two delete options: a) Delete = move to trash folder and b) Delete Permanently.
You find both options in the File menu, with their respective shortcuts. The trash folder is a session folder. A session folder can be either relative to the session or you can assign a particular folder to it (from the Library, right+click on a particular folder and set to trash folder). When you hover your mouse over the Trash Folder on top of the Library tool tab, it will show the exact location on disk. You can empty the Trash Folder with the Empty Trash Folder option in the File menu for permanent deletion
Moving images to the trash folder allows you to recover them by moving them back to the original folder or to any other folder. When you delete an image (or delete permanently) the settings and cache files are included in the action.0 -
I've only had Capture One 4 for a day and am just learning my way around it, but can't figure out the trash system. I don't have the Pro version, but from the above posts I've discovered my trashed files in my Windows Delete Bin and retrieved them, but I can find no trash file under the dropdown File menu nor in the Library.
I've discovered the hard way that by hitting the trash can icon the highlighted file is deleted, but there is no right click on the icon to get into it, and no trash sub-file in any of the files shown in Library.
Thanks.

Are you using an older version of CO 4, older than 4.8.x? 0 -
It's version 4.1.1etc. I assumed I was buying the most up-to-date version when buying from a reputable UK supplier, Colour Confidence, but it looks like this may not be the case.

Don't worry about that. Just download the latest version from Phase One site and install it.0 -
Thanks. Will do. Hopefully that means trash is dealt with a little more efficiently in the latest version.
