Folder browser window - toggle button is subdued

The button has been toggled once and now the folders and thumbnails are beneath the main window. How can I get the thumbnails back to the left side. I would be happy to get the problem solved.

  Try pressing "F8", the option is also under the Collection menu as "Horizontal alignment".
