I Like it today more than I liked it yesterday.
it's sort of making sense. I upgraded from 3.7 so it's a bit of a lunge for me. But much better than the first iteration of 4 which I dumped and went back to 3.7
This seems to be much more Pro.

I just wish they would give us a way to save shadow detail that was usable. By moving the top marker on the shadow/highlight now all you are doing is remapping colors nothing more.
Thats really my only complaint, I've just modified my workflow for other things I dislike.

I like it very much. I've just got the new iMac and running v4.7 on a dual screen set-up is fantastic. Very quick and excellent quality. I still remember having to leave the computer running a batch from the shoot overnight to get the jpeg previews to show to clients. Now it's all done much faster. I'm sure there are improvements to the UI that can be implemented but I never really 'got' the old Mac UI as I learned to use C1 in the Windows version. 0 -

+ usability of color editor much improved compared to V3 (pro)

+ clarity tool (though I don't need it)

- no fixed viewing size smaller than "to fit". the capture is always next to browser and/or tools. when hiding the browser the image jumps to a bigger viewing size
- on mac no shortcuts to zoom in/zoom out (in V3 cmd+/cmd-)
- interface too dark (damn!)
- scrolling through thumbnails still much too slow
- copy/apply adjustments inconvenient (sometimes... sometime it's good as it is... depends)
- no user preferred camera profile at start
- proof profile menu does not show the monitor profile loaded
- no option to set user defined output folder when creating a new session
- inflexible folder structure
- "capture one" folders all over the computer
- no option to delete previews (*.cop-files) straight from capture one ("delete after XY days" was great in V3)
- no option to fade out the bold "star"-rating in thumbnails (if you want to see the color tags only)
- RGB chanels missing
- stitcher missing0 -
Finally I can dump Canon Capture!
Raw files are too big for our web photography, jpeg support and 5DMKII support is perfect. My knowledge of C1Pro however is just >create session>shoot tethered jpeg>transfer image files to production team.
Now I need to learn the real power of this software for creative/marketing shoots.
Wish I could have access to camera controls on the 1DsMKIII/5D MKII though0 -
I have to say for my workflow I like it. There are some bugs/missing things as mentioned in an above post. Also I would like to have better metadata that I could have saved and entered on each image as I process them in a batch. But overall I am happy with it. I did have a learning curve from 3.7.9. I had to do on non job time, but that would be expected with any new software. 0
