Capture One Pro 6.2.2 crashing
I have a severe problem with images coming from my Canon 5DMKII . When I import images from compactflash card, all images are transferred to Capture One, but when I select multiple images (e.g. 5 images) and I want to rotate them, then Capture One crashes to a point that I have to do a forced quit. I transferred already more than 20 error reports the last month about this subject. But no reply. I asked if anyone of our professional photographers in Belgium had the same problem, and there are a few people experiencing the same problems as I, but with Nikon images. So it has to be a common problem. I am running Capture One 6.2.2 on a mac running the latest version of 10.6 system software.
Does anybody has a solution ?? I cannot use capture One anymore. I have tried to reinstall, I have rebuild the disk permissions, nothing works . from the first reinstall the problem stays. Why can't we have a proper solution to this problem ??

I'm having the same issue with Capture One 6.3, but in my case, the crash occurs as soon as I try to open a folder in the Library. Some people suggested to disable the OpenCL in the Preferences menu (General tab) and to delete the Proxies from the Capture One folder (as some of them might be damaged). I tried both, with no success.
At this point, I just don't know what to do anymore. I've been unable to use C1 since I upgraded to 6.3 version. And 6.2.2 version already crashed a lot more than I wish it would.0 -

Just for the record and based on your post a day later in a different thread you solved the issue (CO 6.3 on OS X 10.5.8 crashes; either move to 6.3.1 or to OS X 10.6.8).0 -
I have been having success with 6.2.2 and 10.6.8 while tethering to a 5D II.
However I just finished a job where I was shooting quickly and C1 froze a few times and I lost files in the buffer. In one case 12 files. I'm not sure if it was the speed I was shooting or something else. I was holding off moving to 6.3.1 since tethering was going fine. I was wondering if anyone else was experiencing freezes either with 6.2.2 or 6.3.1. Since I tether most of the time this is important. This freezing was a big issue in the past but I had thought it was behind me.
thanks,

I also had these freezes when shooting "quick" . And with "quick" I mean 5 images in 15 seconds ... not 15 images or more.
It seams like you have to leave half a minute between each picture. Unworkable for a pro.
I hear all kinds of suggestions like upgrading to 6,3,1 and using good cables, using 10,6,8 on mac. NO WAY !! It does not work.
When you have this problem, don't look any further. It must be inside the software because I keep having it whatever I try.
Also with their digital backs I see that image previews take a long time to build up. I don't have it with any other software or camera (I use Canon Eos 5DmkII; Eos 1Ds mkII, Phase One H20 and Hasselblad H3D 39MP) All my equipment and software works fine except for capture one "pro" ....or should i drop the "pro" extension ?? 😕0 -

I would at least recommend you look a bit further and create a support case before you determine that the software (which supports this tethered option) is seen as the one at fault.

I love Drew, he's always so gentle and politically correct in his answers ...
I say, Why is everyone surprised a 5DII can't buffer? It's a bit of a consumer grade cult.
Just go a bit slower with it (if you have 12 in the buffer when it dies you need to slow down a bit or get a real camera) and use SSD's in a current computer if you can afford one.
And the guy with the Hassy H3D ~ If Phocus works for you with no problems then you are the only guy on the planet that doesn't hate it.
See yea!

Phocus works with no problems and I don't hate it and I have tried everything with Capture One that was suggested to work and yes I can afford SSD's and no these don't have anything to do with it because Capture One worked in earlier versions before 6.2 and no I am not shooting up the buffer of 12 images when it blocks after 5 images.
I am not a starter, I have been working with digital cameras for about 15 years.
If it doesn't work, it doesn't work.
I have a few REAL cameras : Eos 1Ds MkII , Hasselblad H3D 39Mp, Phase One H20 backs ...
I don't look down on a Canon Eos 5DMkII because it is a good camera and capture one also blocks on the Eos 1Ds and even on their own backs. I use Capture One since CO 4 and believe me CO6 is the worst version I have ever seen. Everything before worked fine.0
