Failed database / Catalog
Recently suffered a database failure on a Mac . Well sorted out by Phase One support ( courteous and professional ) , using catalog backup . Lesson : backup the catalog after EACH change . Later found very useful advice from the Image Alchemist (Holland ) https://imagealchemist.net/backup-your-catalog/ . Plus general " problem " advice in Capture Integration ( USA ) with their Ten most common problem contacts . Hope this is useful .

Nice to hear that they helped you out.
Me too suffered a total failure of a 30+ GB catalog db during the first week of CO10 use and testing.
The automated catalog backup is a nice feature but is actually a symptom of a serious weakness. If one basically is forced to always backup after every change to feel safe, it's probably time for Phaseone to work on the way they do manage the db.0 -
I just had the same problem. First time opening 10.0.2.33 and it displayed the same "The catalog "Capture One Catalog.cactalogdb" failed basic checks. Verify and repair it" message. Hitting "Verify and Repair" will give the new window with red "Database connection FAILED" message.
But unlike the above users, EVEN after I located a backup (my most recent was from Jan 31) and pasted it over in the catalog, it is the same. I tried using even earlier backups (Jan 17 and Jan 2), same result. Exact same result.
Had been using Capture One since 8 and suddenly this is happening not to just me but at least 2 other users here (one above and one using session in another post).
Can someone help?
I am running macOS Sierra 10.12.30
