Correct Profile Settings for Direct Printing from C1
I use the excellent printer driver, PrintFab, with my Canon i9900. It requires you to specify the colorspace (profile) of the image data being sent to it by the imaging software. (Many image-editing apps do not specify what happens on the way to the printer.)
Suppose I have an image with content outside the AdobeRGB colorspace. (Easy, with digital cameras.) With Photoshop, for example, I would develop the RAW file with Camera Raw into, say, ProPhoto. Then I specify ProPhoto as the "Printer Profile" and let PS handle the color management. I set PrintFab for ProPhoto as input, and the printing is correct and spectacular.
But I also wish to print directly from C1-11. I see onscreen the image I expect, with Proof Profile set to None. But I have no idea what will be sent to PrintFab. If I set View > Proof Profile to ProPhoto or to None and then print using ProPhoto as the Printing Profile (tooltip = "Output profile used during printing"), I get hugely oversaturated colors as though a much smaller profile is really being sent to PrintFab. Yes, PrintFab is set for ProPhoto as input.
Theoretically I have done the same thing with C1 as I have with Photoshop, but something is very wrong. Can anyone please help me figure this out?
Theoretically being sent to printer (driver) = ProPhoto.
PrintFab set to receive colorspace = ProPhoto.
Changing View > Proof Profile doesn't change anything.
