Tablet eraser in Local Adjustments

The online documentation for C1 states that if you turn Pen Pressure on when creating a local adjustment map, your pen's eraser will function as a mask eraser. While the cursor shows up as the 'minus' brush, when drawing with the eraser and the mask is visible, area is being added to the mask rather than being deleted from it. Bug?

Also, is there a way to 'pin' the Brush Settings panel so you can quickly access it without having to right click and move around the panel very carefully to keep it from automatically disappearing?

Running C1 7.1 under OSX 10.8.3, with a Wacom Intuos3 9x12 (current drivers).

    Please define this, "Current Driver" may be pertinent now but not looking back at threads like this for other users.
    At the time of this posting the current driver is 6.3.5w3.

    What you have described is as we have seen and reported. At this time it is not known if it is a Bug in the software or a conflict with the Driver/Software/OS as other systems do not show the same behavior. It is being investigated.

    Until then, however, as a simple workaround you can change the "Eraser" in the Wacom Settings from "Erase" to "Modifier/Option". This will make the Eraser to act like the "Option" Key is pressed on the Keyboard and thus do what it is intended to do.

    Wacom 6.3.5w3, yes.

    I've just done your suggested workaround, and it works.

    Even better still, for others possibly running into this issue: do what Drew suggests but create an application mapping in the Wacom driver for Capture One first--that way your eraser settings continue to work correctly in Photoshop and other pen-aware applications.

    Excellent advice. I would extend that to any/all software's that you plan to use with such a device as it will increase efficiency of both the Application and your workflow.
