Endless Focusing on 4.5.1
I've been using 4.5.1 for a little while and have been able to work with files from my cameras as well as look at RAW files from the 5D Mark II without any trouble.
Now when I double click to zoom on any file it just says "Focusing..." forever. I've waited 20-30 seconds and see no activity on my processor and no real increase in RAM usage to indicate it's actually trying to do something. It all started suddenly today, I was able to look at the 100% zoom of a couple 5D Mark II files but then the next one I clicked it had this problem and has since had this problem with RAW files from all my cameras.
The problem seems to come and go, if I restart Capture One it seems to be able to view files from my 1D Mark II and Rebel XTi just fine. I just restarted Capture One now and it isn't working correctly though.
The most frustrating part, aside from it not working, is I can't figure out an exact pattern of behavior. At first I thought the problems started whenever I'd try to zoom in on a 5D Mark II file but I'm not so sure anymore!
It does look like if I wait long enough for all CaptureOne.exe disk activity in the Resource Monitor in Vista to end (which takes some time after closing CaptureOne, it looks like it's updating log files or something) then Capture One can correctly view files from the 1D Mark II and Rebel XTi so I'm guessing there's something going wrong with viewing the 5D Mark II files even though that never happened before. I'm still fiddling with it but it looks like I might be narrowing the problem down to when you read a production 5D Mark II RAW file vs a preproduction which is what I've looked at before.
The computer is a quad core Q9450 at 2.66Ghz with 8GB RAM running Vista 64 SP1.
From looking at the C1 log files I'm getting the following errors:
in ImgCore
in Application
Sorry for the rambling, this is still very much an investigation in progress in my head.

Maybe you can supply a production 5D MkII raw file to Phase One along with a support case. The preliminary 5D Mk II support is probably (and most likely) based on a preproduction model and Canon might have changed it a bit or two.0 -

Based on what I've played with I think that might be the case. I find it interesting that it completely breaks Capture One and that you have to shut it down and wait a bit before restarting it for it to work again. The RAW files are not my own (so I'm basically making the assumption these new files are from a production camera) but I will look in to sending them to C1.0 -
I get the same problem, but ONLY with sRAW files from a production 5D Mark II. All the full res RAW files work fine for me.
You might want to verify if the files causing problems are sRAW or RAW.

Good point, Darin. In my setup with production 5D mkII files, only 'full' raw is supported. With sRAW1 the application is endlessly loading the file (on Mac it crashes the application when it tries to load) and sRAW2 is not recognized at all. Well, its preliminary support, so we have to wait just a little longer before we can get real into play. 0 -
Of course I must have jinxed myself...
Yesterday, C1Pro was working fine.
Now, any new files I try to browse cause the "endless loading" message. I can go back to any files which have already had previews generated and C1 works fine.
But if I have a RAW file in a directory which already has a preview generated, it works fine, but if I copy the EXACT same file to a new directory, I get the "endless loading" message when I try to view that file.
For some reason C1 is not able to create any preview files anymore.
I will reboot, re-install, and try again.

OK, here's what I have been able to reproduce...
I rebooted and C1 works fine, even with 5D MarkII full res RAW files.
But, if I try to view/load a 5D MarkII sRAW file, I get the "endless loading" message.
Then after that, C1 will not generate any previews for any files no matter what.
Once I quit C1 and restarted, it starts working again.
So the moral of that story is, don't click on any 5D Mark II sRAW files.
