Remove File From Catalog

I am probably missing an obvious one here but how do I remove a file from a catalog without deleting the file?

  This can be done with the 'delete' button on your keyboard:
  http://dl.dropbox.com/u/25580003/Delete.JPG
  As you see, MP does not affect the original file.
