Since posting C1 v4 crashed and I can now select all though only one file will process. Is there another Enable option somewhere? BTW I have seen the Stop button has not been selected under the queue tab.

    Thank you,

    Richard.

To batch process, you have to select all the images you want to process (just like you are probably used to); and then you have to hold down the shift key while clicking on the process button (which no one is used to doing because it only makes sense to Phase One to do it this way).

This is a revelation! Shift-Process! Where on earth does it say this in the manual? It works and I'm very grateful, thank you.

    Rgds,

    Richard.

It doesn't say it in the manual, and since no one else makes you go through these extra steps, and since it wasn't needed in 3.7, it's no wonder that many people are perplexed by the genius who came up with this. My question is hold down the shift key as opposed to what . . the space bar? Why? To me it's indicative of Phase One's approach to 4.0 compared to 3.7. Wherever they had an opportunity to make the workflow more cumbersome . . they managed to do so. In this case they dreamed up something that wasn't needed in 3.7. Same holds true for the adjustments. In 3.7 is was really, really, really easy. Now it's a mess.

Indeed, this is another confusing aspect of 4 - the same as the adjustments - copy and apply to selected files commands. I still don't understand that one. Surely it makes sense to adjust, to copy and apply to selected but I haven't made that work either. It's faster to do them individually which defeats the whole idea of batch adjustments. But don't tell me - the shortcut's not in the badly-written manual either!
