Select those problem thumbnails and use the Action âž™ Rebuild Item menu option. See if that will set the correct photo to the thumbnail.

I will test it ... but should I do this everytime? I don't think it's correct.

Is it possible to rebuild all items after open a catalogue?

If the rebuild fixes the thumbnail then all you should have to do is save the changes to the catalog and you're done. You should not have to repeat it every time. Just be sure to save the catalog after rebuilding.

I have an issue where certain thumbnails do not build. jpg, tif, psd. I get a white icon. Is this a similar issue?

Rebuilding the item doesn't help. These 'built' just fine in the previous incarnation.

Is there a fix for this?

    Thanks.

Actually, the 'rebuild thumbnail' seems to do nothing on my machine.

The "Edit: Thumbnails and Previews" setting don't seem to make a difference.

    Are others seeing this?

What happens if you choose another rendering engine?
Menu/Edit/Preferences/Media rendering > Change prefered engine from 'Phase One' to whatever there is possible (on windows you can change to 'Windows Imaging Component')

Thanks - yes, changing the Media REndering from "Phase1" to "Apple" did it (I'm on a Mac), but I had to restart the app first.

I haven't seen the other issue, of a difference from the icon to the image, but will post if I do. I'll be regenerating all icons.

    Thanks again,
    K

OKay, quick follow up, that was good advice about the Thumbnail generating. My recommendation is that anyone on a Mac should immediately switch over to the "Apple" rendering engine.
