No there is currently no way to do this. People often ask for it - if you want to add your voice you should open a support case. I decided to make use of it as a feature. I work with sessions and then import them into a catalogue. The way I work each top level folder shows the number of images I marked as selects and the remainder are still available under a sub folder but do not show in the folder count. I like this since I am more interested in how may good images I have on a topic that the total number I took. Full explanation is here:

There is no feature like this but you can create variants. So, if you want to compare to the before edit version you can create a new variant (not a clone, new) for your image. Now you have the edited version and a version with no edits and you can select them both and view them side by each. If you want to compare a final edit to some part way mark you do have to create a cloned variant at that time.

Thank you, Ian, for your reply. Good trick with variants as before/after solution. Hopefully they will add this simple and often used tool soon. 😄

As suggested, you could make a feature suggestion. The more requests they receive, the better the chances it will be implemented.

    2) Is there any way to make picture smaller than "fit to screen" during edits?

There isn't but a potential workaround would be to select multiple images at the same time. The viewer will then show all of them, scaled down to fit them in. The more you select, the smaller the image you are working on will appear. Don't worry about the other selected images receiving adjustments as well. Only certain updates (such as "star ratings") will apply to all selected images (if the respective "multi" mode is active). Image adjustments aren't applied to all selected images, unless you explicitly copy them over from the primary selection to the others.

You can avoid using the mouse by pressing Ctrl-R (for reset). From there, Ctrl-Z (undo) and Shift-Ctrl-Z (redo) allow you to go back and forth between "before" and "after".

You may find it useful to only "reset" the last tool you used (e.g., "color balance"). For this, (temporarily) use the local reset option that each tool offers.

    4) I love Luma range setting for my local adjustment, is there any way to make something like "Focus range"?

    No, there isn't.

There is the "focus detection" feature which supports setting the focus threshold but you cannot convert its results into a mask. Given its results, though, I doubt it would work well for what you have in mind.

Try: Settings - Appearance - Proof Margin
