why can't I delete the KB shortcut for "create new catalog"?

I don't use catalogs, don't see myself using it anytime soon. Been using sessions since v3. In v7 I cannot use the KB shortcut command+shift+N for create new session b/c create new catalog has it and its locked.
Why is this? Not very user friendly.

  Couldn't agree more.
  More people that share your opinion should chime in so we can forward the concern to the Product Manager and hopefully instigate some change.

  Yes that was the response in my support case - product manager decision, they will forward my feedback, etc.
  I would love to give my opinions to a product manager from a pro tech point of view.
  
  I feel that when companies do things like this - prevent us from changing things (that were available before) to force feed us new, maybe unwanted features - demonstrates to me that they think many users are not that bright.

  Another vote for freeing fixed keyboard shortcuts. In particular the Shift+Cmd+N which has been for new session for years.
  
  I looked into the Windows versions. Both the New Session and New Catalog command do not have a shortcut by default and are free to configure. Go figure! 😉
