capture one seeing 1/2 of my images

I'm just starting with Capture One, so I hope this basic question has an easy answer.

I have 1087 RAW images from a Canon 1dsM3 to process.

I downloaded the demo of Phase One for Mac OSX on a dual core machine with 1TB of hard drive space available.

I set up one folder for Captures and Capture One has made 587 previews.

How do I get Capture One to see the other 500 images? It skips right from 300 to 1000 it seems.

Oddly enough, I am able to open the raw images in between with Canon's utility.
