On the PhaseOne web page, under My pages -> license management, have you checked on how may computers you have activated the software?
I can see it's possible to reset the activations there, but I have no idea, which impact this has.

I just went through this on Windows 7. Resetting activations clears all installation activations on the Phase One server. Your local installations will no longer be activated, but you will then be able to activate local installations again according to the number of workstations you have licenses for.

That was my experience. Hopefully it applies universally.

What happens when you run several OSes on the one computer?

I run Snow Leopard, Mountain Lion, Mavericks and Yosemite on my iMac 27".

A regular license has two activations. As explained, you can manage your activations from the website. Deactivating from the website allows you to start all over again with your activations. This is great in case you have lost an activation due to hardware failure.

In case you have multiple volumes on your system, each with an installation of OS X, installing Media Pro and activate it will (most probably) count as an extra activation.

Note that you can always deactivate from the program, in case you have more installations then activations, without the need to deinstall.
