Sony has never really played well with others. In that same vein, integrating tethered support isn't as easy as flipping a switch. You can always use the "Hot Folder" feature to allow for tethered capture.

Phase One did not provide tethered capture SDK as well. I guess both Sony and Phase One do not like to have top Sony DSLR support.

Hmm.. hang on, there is a full Capture SDK for Phase One digital camera backs.

Just as there is for Nikon and Canon.

But to the best of my knowledge there still does not exits one for Sony.
We have been quite committed in updating support for Sony products and have a good relationship with Sony.
This is simply just one product that Sony have chosen not to release for 3rd party implementation.
We hope of course that this is something that will change,

PhaseOne did not provide any information about the SDK content. But as far as i understand phase one allows other software to use they SDK to support camera in oter software. What i mean is a third party software support to CaptureOne. Just another tethered shooting camera.

That is not the way it works. The camera (hardware) manufacturer is leading, the software developer following. No camera manufacturer is interested in how to make their camera work in any 3rd party software. But perhaps I lived under a rock for too long. 😁

It is exactly the way like the industry lives now. I will not mention the raw converter that has SDK and support for Sony tethered shooting by 3d party software developers at this moment.

    Hello,

Anybody knows does it support Sony Alpha 33 and 55 to convert Raw? I still cannot see these two models on their updated list. I am still thinking whether to upgrade to 6.01 or not. I am just a Capture One 4 user. Thanks a lot

If it is not listed in the release notes, and I believe it is currently not, than it is not (yet) supported.

Back to the topic: what about Phase One plans about third party tethered shooting addons?

Yes, what about it? (rhetorical question)...

From the more helpful side, I would like to remind you that if you need a direct response from Phase One, you should address the question to them directly in a support case. Do you like to discuss it with other users however, you have come to the right place. But users are not much aware of Phase One's strategic plans (at least I am not).

Why not? Any public promises will be great for top Sony camera owners. In other way ignorance will be an answer to. So I think it’s a good chance to have an answer.
