Hi Mark, yes I can confirm that.

Is this the same mark from UK E-system group? 😊

    It most certainly is!
It was a bit of a toss-up as to whether I should ask this here or on the Oly group forum, because I know there are a lot of CO users there. It looks as though either will do!

I was showing some friends my images from our recent South African trip, and some of the wildlife ones I'd processed with selective sharpening on the animal and then reversed the mask and reduced clarity and added noise reduction to the background seemed a bit over-sharpened. I think I'd forgotten to turn off 'global' sharpening before exporting. Then it struck me that I'd never checked exactly what happened when you do that.

    Many thanks for the response.

No prob, I very often do that mask the bird add some sttucture and sharpening then use a reverse mask to add noise reduction to the oof background. 😊

    Paul,

Instead of or as an additional correction via local adjustment to reduce noise in OOF background, did you experiment already with negative values for "Structure" on the Clarity tab?

Yes Michael I have used them all since CO8 came out, depending on the background. 😊
