Quickproof badly needed, please bring it back.
I really need the quickproof feature,[/color] that was in version 3.x.x of Capture One. Our work flow depends on it for this very simple reason.
I photograph 300 high school seniors per year. Each subject I take between 100 - 275 captures per subject. We proof out 9 images per 8-1/2" x 11" paper on a Xerox Phaser Printer, bind them into a folio, and loan them to the subject. We also use a presentation software, which encrypts the images and creates a slide show that is time limited. This they can view on their PC at home for 30 days before it reaches the time limit.
I cannot afford the time it takes for CaptureOne to generate "Using the Output ot Batch processing features!" It simply takes to long.
The Quick Proof feature in the older versions of CapureOne is one of the main reasons I use PhaseOne software.
I also miss the Cntl + plus sign shortcuts for adjusting brightness and the other shortcut keys that made us so proficient in CaptureOne.
So, please, please, bring these features back in the final version. I really need them, especially the Quick Proof feature.
One other thing is my CURVE toolbox is half cut off at the bottom of my display, but I feel that PhaseOne is aware of this on the AMD Athlon XP and is probably fixing it as I speak.
Capture One 4 has a great deal going for it though! It's faster, gives me added control by adding the dynamic range tools. For the most part I am pleased and can hardly wait to start teaching it to the photographers in Wisconsin and nearby states.
All In all congratulations on a nice job, so far, in making CapureOne my choice RAW file convertor!

FWIW, processing files at say 25% is faster than full...the timescale is not accurate for smaller versions as it begins, it actually happens much faster....
If you used Quickproofs, maybe try 25%...my 1Ds Mk3 files take about 8 seconds each at that setting, and those are big files reduced to 1248x832, about 10 minutes for 85 files processed in the background.
Not quite as fast as QPs, but this version is so much faster, it is still very usable IMHO....0 -
What a great workflow enhancement from P1, take twice as long in the new version as it did in the existing version. Perfect. 0
