You may find the US site will not accept a UK/EU credit card or address. I had this happen to me a few years ago (although it was not with Phase One).

    Thanks Kevin,
I'm curious as there is about £50 difference..

I suspect the euro price includes VAT while the US price is before addition of tax. Many US suppliers of software downloads collect VAT on behalf of your government when you buy on line using a credit card.

Also it may be that recent movements in the UK pound/euro exchange rate have made the difference between the dollar and euro prices greater.

I'm in UK too and looked at both options prior to upgrading to version 11.
It doesn't seem to make much difference by the time VAT & other taxes are added.

Thanks all just wondered if there was a definite block on paying in dollars from UK. I'll follow up and check out purchasing from US to see what pricing I get and will update here once I know more

    Cheers

I think I tried once several versions ago without success. I think EU rules oblige Phase One to sell to us in euros and charge us VAT.

I suspect it's a bit like buying anything in the US and exporting it. You can get the deal without local and sales taxes in the US but in theory should pay a duty on the imported goods.

Software may have been a bit of a grey area in the past and still is in some situations but seems to have been tightened up somewhat in recent times with the greater sophistication of e-commerce systems.

It will be interesting to see what you discover.

Well it seems to have worked for me- bought it from ImageAlchemy in USD which after using the 10% discount code as well came in about £30 cheaper than I could have bought it in Euro.

The site allowed UK address input and UK credit card usage.

I used have a credit card I have - Halifax Clarity that doesn't charge fees and as long as I pay it off when it actually hits my account there are no additional fees.

    Thanks for the help folks...
