Beginner Question - What's the Purpose of the Capture Tab?

Hi,

I can tell it's important, but I have no clue what it does and how to use it. I've not had any success in figuring it out from the manual and other posts. I'd greatly appreciate an explanation and use tips.

  It's used for capturing images from a camera that is directly connected to your computer via USB/Firewire - look in the help under "Tethered, Capturing".

  ...and for LE versions which do not support tethered capture. It can allow you to review the histogram of the raw data, unaffected by white balance and exposure settings.
