Browser view mode "persistence" bug?
For the last five days, I have been going back and forth with Phase One Support trying to file a bug report, but I cannot seem to make them understand what I mean.
It's getting a little frustrating, so I need someone to tell me I'm not crazy… 🤓
The basic gist of my bug report (paraphrased a little for clarity):
I'm curious if other users of Capture One v12.x experience the same behavior and how you deal with it.
Also, if you understand what I'm describing and have any suggestions for making it more clear to Phase One Support, please let me know. 😊

The basic gist of my bug report (paraphrased a little for clarity):
I am currently using Capture One 11 and am evaluating version 12 to decide if I should upgrade. I am running into different behavior between version 11 and 12 regarding Browser view mode persistence and believe that the version 12 behavior is a bug:
In my workflow, I often switch between having just the Browser open, or the Viewer with the Browser as filmstrip at the bottom. There are three layouts available for the Browser view: grid, list and film strip. Version 11 remembers two different views: one for the browser-only, another for browser + viewer. This makes perfect sense: in browser + viewer mode, most users will likely want the browser to use the filmstrip view, especially when the browser is shown horizontally below the viewer. In browser-only mode, filmstrip makes no sense. I always use the grid view in browser-only mode.
Version 12 no longer remembers different browser views between the "browser + viewer" and "browser-only" mode. This makes switching between the two modes a cumbersome two step process. Making things worse, there doesn't seem to be way to create a keyboard shortcuts for switching between the three different browser views (grid, list and film strip), so one has to click on the icons.
Another difference I noted: version 11 actually disables the film strip view in Browser-only mode (makes sense). Version 12 leaves all three browser viewing modes enabled, regardless of whether the Viewer is shown or not.
I made two screen recordings, one of version 11, the other of version 12:

So, in summary:
- Capture One 11: remembers that in "Browser only"-mode, the browser view is set to "grid", and that in "Browser + Viewer"-mode, the browser view is set to "filmstrip".
- Capture One 12: does *NOT* remember the above – it only remembers one "global" browser view, irrespective of whether the Viewer is shown or not.
I'm curious if other users of Capture One v12.x experience the same behavior and how you deal with it.
Also, if you understand what I'm describing and have any suggestions for making it more clear to Phase One Support, please let me know. 😊

I have the exact same issue and I guess from the video you have attached, they should understand the problem. 0 -
I have ported this and received a feedback saying that v11 wasn’t allowing film strip in only browser mode, however since v12 allows film strip view in only browser, we are seeing this issue. They will add this a feature request so, those who has a complaint about it, I’d suggest contacting tech support for a feature request.
Cheers,
