Can we get a refund ??
Drew - would you please check with the powers to be and tell us if our Capture One Pro 6.2.2 license can be deactivated and a refund issued to our credit card?
As mentioned earlier, I am new to this software, loved the UI, but the crashes, import issues are too much to deal with. My OS is Lion - not compatible with your product - and I most likely purchased your product prior to any news out that it is not supported under Mac OS Lion.
Sadly - it is back to PS or Aperture but I have to get moving

I have to say that I am as well dissapointed. Holy Cow, there are sooo many companies that were caught with their pants down about Lion but most have come out with an update. We have not heard a thing since the sticky at the top of the forum about an update coming ASAP. But I will probably still continue to wait but wait sadly 🙄 0 -
The shocker for me Thomas is that PS is almost fully functional under Lion - only a few minor issues. With 6.2.2 I get crashes, freezes, import issues and do not want to deal with work arounds any longer. I'll probably revisit Capture One Pro in the future but have to get on with real work not work arounds. 0 -
Sorry to say this but this is only history repeating... On every C1Pro updates there's is a few fixes and many of the existing bugs remains (an it seams that it's always the issues that you have that remains).
When OS X add a new cat to the Zoo, (Panther, Lion, Tiger...) that's the real bugger, it will takes a long, long time for PhaseOne to react, it almost looks as if they are considered "users" and not "developers" by apple so that they learn about the update/change at the same time as the public do.
I don't think they will refund and one sad thing is that they know that they have the best capture software (when it works it's awesome) and that professionnal photographers will stick to C1Pro even if they are irritated by it.
I've been using C1Pro since v3.7.3, Phase One & Photographers, it's a love & hate relationship

Olivier - perhaps you have an astute perspective on PhaseOne. I am hoping that they are an ethical company and will do the right thing by refunding the purchase price to those of us that are not going to go backwards with our operating system. I do dread returning to PS but.... 0 -

If you would like one, just create a support case and request a refund from the Sales Department. They will let you know if it is possible.
Typically however refunds are not provided since the software allows for a 30 Day trial to determine if it is a proper fit for your workflow, once activated it's not possible for us to verify it is no longer running in some manner and a refund is not possible. Sorry for the bad news.0 -
I may be outof line, but I would imagine that pros would be hesitant to adapt a new OS until they know that the software has been tried and tested to function within a working environment. I know that Capture Integration had been warning people not to upgrade to Lion quite candidly.
In our office, we will not install any new software, especially an OS until we know that it works. We just can't afford to cripple our production time. We have 6.2.2 working quite well with the latest Snow Leopard OS release. I did load Lion onto a laptop to check it out, but right now I see no life changing reason to upgrade.

Mike, what you say is very very wise. (You normally check if the car runs on gas or diesel 😊
Anyhow, Capture One 6.3 is now released with Mac OS 10.7.1 support (note the last little extra digit)

That is one perspective - however, Adobe and many others have their cars running on the slightly upgraded gas / diesel (Lion) without all the issues that PhaseOne has with 6.2.2
So - we will load the update shortly and hope we can get back to editing without all the crashes and workarounds and enjoy 6.2.3
On a serious note Ulf - what "take away" lessons might PhaseOne have from this experience thus far?0 -

Using the Adobe analogy per 64 bit ignores the fact that PC PS and plugins were operating under 64 bit for well over a year before the 64 bit MAC versions were available and stable. Are you suggesting that PhaseOne withhold a release for everyone until the MAC version is ready? If so, I like the fact that users can stay with a current OS until those who wish can upgrade. Providing fully functional releases for testing before buying by individuals is all anyone at PhaseOne or Adobe need to do IMHO. I vote for that continued policy.0 -
John - I am not getting your point. My point is that 6.2.2 should have been more OS Lion ready. I am running 5 Macs in my operations and have had virtually no issues under Lion with the exception of 6.2.2
A mentioned in an earlier post, the release of Lion was hardly a surprise. From a distance, it appears that some of the software staff at PhaseOne may not have gotten moving on this fast enough.
At any rate - no interest in stoking flame wars of fanboy debates - I look forward to seeing if 6.2.3 gets us a stable software solution under Lion.

apple corps-
you must be totally new to C1Pro - almost everytime there is an update something breaks. that's how its been since they changed from V3 to V4. now same all the way up to V6.
i think its the microsoft partnership personally.
just the quirks of the program and the company. not enough pro beta testers also.
but i must say one thing - why rush to use lion in a professional workflow?
i understand wanting to try it out - so then i would put it on a partition but i would never use a new OS on a working machine for at least 6 months.
Lion has no features that will help a pro photography workflow. just iOS features in finder - auto save and versions do not work with photoshop, etc.
capture one is the best tethering and raw processing application by far - but there many bugs over the years we've had to deal with.
and also the tech support after creating a support case are super fast when responding, in my experience.0 -
6.3 is available for download. 0 -
Maybe someone at Phase will correct me but in my experience being a long term Phase user, Phase One has never worked in the way you are suggesting and updating C1 before every new point or full OS release. I think its even been said before that the don't do any "hard core" software development as Apple has a habit of changing things at the last minute and prefer to work on bug fixes with final release versions of the OS.
You sound very understandably frustrated but while you may call us fanboys for our relaxed view of this, we find it very strange you base your whole experience of using this excellent software with a brand new OS that has only been around a matter of weeks. Do you think the monster company that is Adobe will ever update Photoshop CS5 to fully support Lion or make us pay for that with CS6? Heck they only recently updated CS5 with an important bug fix, some twelve months after release. Have Hasselblad supported Lion yet with Phocus?
Just wait and all will be redeemed!0 -
Edward51 - correctomundo - brand new to C1P and PHASEONE.
Gareth - did not call anyone a fanboy - just stated that I did not want to start any flame wars or fanboy debates - really was asking about a refund.
I run 5 Macs in my operations. Keep in mind that C1P / photo editing are only a part of my computer use. My other apps are fine with Lion. Perhaps Edward51 hit the nail on the head - not many beta testers / small community / corporate philosophy on development / who knows.
Fingers crossed for 6.3 - I'll be giving it a go this weekend.0
