Is there a Grid overlay outside of the Crop tool?

Hello,

I do a lot of work which requires a grid overlay to evaluate positioning of objects within the frame. I am very new to CO and just downloaded the CO 5 free upgrade. (Thank you) What I want is a way to setup grid parameters for both vertical and horizontal ruling and have that grid overlaid on any image I am viewing in the edit window. Is this possible with the present software or is this a feature I need to request?

  I demonstrated this to a user today.
  
  Go to the program's preferences in the Edit menu, Crop tab. I suggest: Show Grid = When Grid & Guides On. Additionally, if you find the guides confusing with the grid: Show Guides = Never

  Thank you for the response, I went to the crop tab and tried to select the "Show Grid = When Grid & Guides On" from the drop down but that selection does not exist, is the feature your recommending a Pro feature only? I only have CO 5 regular and I need to be able to set the vertical and horizontal grids separately. Also, I am unable to find any mention of guides in the preferences at all.

  Yes, the preference settings I explained apply to Pro. I am sorry for any confusion.
